Brought these half clamps 2 years ago thank god I did, as the exhaust flange completely rusted away today :(
Can highly recommend them, and only took 30 mins to fit start to finish

Problem isn't always just the flange , in worse cases the "trumpet" inside corrodes & then it isn't quite so easy to fix :(

Have to say the two end of the exhaust were like new  lucky

I sprayed some WD40 on mine yesterday in preparation to remove do I can swap my back boxes over. I know one replacement box has a cricket bracket, but not sure on the ones on the car. Might have to get the angle grinder out I guess

Well done Terry glad it was quickly fixable - there was a lot of wobbling around from the osr box when I was behind you - it's a big piece of metal to come detached

Back to fighting fit then - you will have to plan a run out next weekend to test :poke:

Did you check the manifold to exhaust flanges at the front of the car. This is the point where serious rust develops. Caught mine just in time for new bolts etc but it was deteriorating. The exhaust man said if left the only solution can run into thousands of pounds

Surely a good exhaust place could source some replacement clamps?

Its location makes it difficult to cut and weld as the manifolds curl up sharply towards the cats. Also it is very close to where the sensors are located. I asked the exhaust shop whether the two parts could just be welded together and in theory 'yes' but if you needed to drop the exhaust for any reason you would be in trouble.
