Hi Guys,

I would like to buy a E85 Z4 for around 100,000 miles. Is a rusty engine bay and roof normal and easy to fix? The photos are attached for your information.

Thank you very much!!!

Thank you very much guys, it costs around £4000, I will give it up :headbang:

Unless that's a 10k miles Z4M barn find - walk away as quickly as possible

Just take a look in here for far better cars at that money or not much more -

Welcome to the forum OP.

As others have said £4,000 seems way too much for a 2 litre model in that condition. :o

Personally I'd be looking for one with a straight 6 for that sort of money - it's one of the Z4s unique features.

Good luck finding a good example.

Are you monitoring the Sales section on here?
Can't think of a better place to start.

Hi Guys, thank you for your comments, it helps me a lot!! I am looking at this 3.0 E85 (2004, 56,000 miles, ~£5,500) right now, how do you guys think?

Not much to go on, but it looks ok. Are those runflat tyres?
I know the MV2 wheels do sit in a bit, but those rears seem a really long way under the arches to me.
Are they the correct fitment? 8.5J but can't remember the offset.

What history does the car have with it? Is there sufficient proof that the mileage is correct?
Any remedial work been done?

Thank you soooo much for your help!!! You made my day.

I have no idea which tyres are using now. I think they are runflat tyres. For the fitment, would you mind explain more to me? I appointed a testing drive tomorrow, I would like to have a detail look of it. I will follow this guide to check: https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21281

I did an Auto check from Experian, the report shows the mileage is the same as description. I have no idea why the mileage is relatively low for this car. It is quite unusual.

MV2 are standard staggered fit except for ones off a 5 series which are ET20, but those would sit further out, right? There may be 8J on the back instead of 8.5J, it definitely doesn’t look right.

Don't know much about e85 but those back wheels look strange.

Good mileage though - have you checked the MOT history?

Agree, it must be figured out tomorrow.

The MOT history looks normal. The last MOT fail on Dec 2016, the reasons are:
Electronic stability system warning lamp indicates a fault (3.4.1c)
Nearside Front Lower Ball joint has excessive play (2.2.B.1f)
Offside Front Lower Ball joint has excessive play (2.2.B.1f)

Have you seen this one at £4k - https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=129707

Yeah, this one looks sooooo good. But I am living in London, I would like to buy it within London area. This one is a bit far for me

What about the silver one you PM'd Rob about earlier, that's in London I believe - looks like a nice example :D
