Rust on front of engine bay area

Hey all

So I’m looking to buy z4c at mo and was going to view one - but is about two and half’s drive away from me.
The owner has been quite honest and sent me picture of rust as shown on pictures - is this rust on the chassis or a part that looks replaceable?

Does it look like an expensive fix from the picture shown?

If it’s not the chassis then what’s that section called so I can find out cost?

Also he’s only had car for a 5 months which is a bit of a concern

Hi, It's not chassis. It looks like the metal strip that helps hold the front bumper in place and should come off when you remove the clips/screws. Then you can sand it down and respray it yourself.

My old 2.5 had a little bit towards passenger side, the slam bar is easily removed for treating and painting!
There also some available on eBay for £30-35 if you want a simpler life!

That metal strip sits on top of the bumper. Undo the 7 torx bolts and the metal strip can be removed.

I resprayed mine as it had a bit of rust on it. Looks fine now.
