Rust in boot...

Has anyone else found rust under the boot floor, noticed this a few days ago, I'm going to take it to BMW after work to see if they will sort it, mine should just about be in the 12year corrosion guarentee I think

I'd bet that corrosion guarantee only applies if main dealer has serviced car in full accordance with service book and that all stamps were present.

Well I went in and I am literally just covered I think, my car was built March 31st 2004 :lol:
He is going to speak to his manager and then let me know the result, they better bloody fix it

Ooooo, skin of your teeth. Is that rust coming from underneath then?

Yeah it must be under the exhaust heatshield, there's no evidence of it starting from above, the bootliner is immaculate etc. I'd possibly expect it on the battery side but it's nowhere near

I have a scab of rust on the underside of my boot lid. I'm going to pop down to lloyds since you seem to be getting somewhere with BMW.

Yeah it's Lloyds who I went to, provided yours hasn't had a respray on that panel you should be covered if it's within 12years

I thought the same, it's the only place on the car, must have been a problem when the car was made, or maybe the heatshield has rubbed at the underside or something
