Saw it on one of those dubious websites about a year ago - reckon someone was filming it in the cinema  anyway it was on Film 4 last night so was able to watch it in full HD :D

Okay so it's a bit cheesy but what a cracking film - both actors look like NL and JH - the one who played Nikki was uncanny in his likeness - original racing sequences intermixed with made up ones :D

If you haven't seen it definitely worth giving it a go .

+1 Well worth a watch, halfway into the film you actually forget what the real James Hunt and Niki Lauda look like.

Compelled me to buy a copy of that season's Formula 1 races. Not quite as exciting as the film but very impressive to watch the film and then compare it with the real thing . . . . .Thought the characterisation and acting of the main parts were excellent. One thing that spoilt it for me was being shown how one race track was dressed up to look like many . . . .hate spoilers like that.

If you want to feel part of driving at a GP take another look at Grand Prix (1960s film with James Garner) in HD. I think you'll be surprised by the quality and intimacy of the filming - no computer aids with this film just cameras bolted onto the cars and multiscreen presentation. It really does put you right there with the driver. :driving:
