Running like a top

None of my Zs have been daily's so MPG never really been a thought but its hard not to be impressed by your car's capabilities Rob , mighty impressive numbers for the BHP & torque on offer .
The 35i on last weeks 1300 mile France trip averaged around 32-33mpg which i was more than happy with but soon drops to 22mpg on a sporty drive out for direct comparison on the Mway run home from eurotunnel i managed 330miles at 74-78 mph but arrived home with just 12miles left

I can assure you Mr Wilks, in southern France last year Rob was getting nothing like 40mpg when I was with him :wink:

Hadn’t started his diet at that time had he.... :wink:

Wow, once you've retired you might be getting nearer 50mpg! :lol:

I use my 2.0 manual as a daily driver having done 30,000 in last two years, throuought that time averaging app 40 mpg. Possible improvement in economy being that I often get restricted on the M1 with the 60mph speed cameras, but does also include some town commuting. Had an MR2 previous which returned similar.

2.0 turbo or e85 normally aspirated?

Sometimes i switch off eco mode & tickle it a bit, maybe even dipping below 39mpg during the most furious drives :lol:

What mpg do you get? I only manage 40 out of our 1.2 polo!

I can get over 40mpg from it, nearer 45 if i really try

I got 170 miles out of my last tank. Should have posted that on the chap in South Africa's thread to make him feel better
