RUNFLATS

Sounds to me as if you are selling rather than buying? They might have some value to someone here but there wont be much of a que to buy them whereas if they were non run flats you'd get far more attention.

I sold 2 run flats for the front i.e. 225/40/18 with over 6 mm tread on them and only raised £100 for my trouble.

no,someone had 8 for sale,4 front,4 rear. I went to 400,him to 500. thing is,i doubt id wear them out,so I passed. I know a lot hate runflats but i'm happy with them.

Yeah i had run flats on my old e85 and replaced them. Ive just got a 10 plate with 19 inch wheels with runflats and def feels better than on the e85. Ill see when it comes time to change and ive used them a bit more. xx

I still use them. They are fine, but you can't deny when you hit a pothole, it crashes like something you've never heard before

if they are to go on a z4 then certainly no more than 40p a corner plus the chancellors 20% 8)
if you are looking for a real answer though, i was quoted £1007 ride in, ride out back in september so try pitching them around the 40-60% mark and see how it goes...

+1 like a mini explosion when you hit one, horrible sound.

Loving conti sport 3 runflats but fitted on 17 inch rims.

Good = Better turn in.

but bad = Slightly jumpy if hits a bump mid corner

Have you tried lowering the rear pressures slightly?
It may help reduce the skipping which you describe

New to the forum but wanted to add my 2pence on run flats, I have had my 3.0 SDrive 2010 Z4 for 6 months running RFTs on 18" and whilst the ride was ok, I decided to move away from RFTs and just fitted 4 Goodyear eagle f1s asymmetric 2's and it's a different car....far smoother, precise and sure footed, not to mention 100 pounds cheaper a corner!

Highly recommend moving away from run flats! :D

One question on pressures, has anyone else made the move on 18"s and what pressures are you running?

When i used to own an E85 i was a firm advocate for replacing RFT tyres for "normal tyres".

Owning an E89 now, they do not bother me one bit. I think the safety advantages of the RFT tyre far outweigh any potential handling advantage that normal tyres might bring.

Add to that, my wife often uses the car and if she get a puncture she wont be stranded at the side of the road waiting for assistance. Safer all round me thinks.

Mine are on 19"s and the new pair of Bridgestone RTF just cost be £192 each delivered 255/30/19

I'm with Dario, I've never had any issue with runflats on the E89 or previous two 1 Series, different matter when I bought a New MINI Cooper S back in 2003, the ride was plain terrible.

I think alot of critics of RFs I notice own the old model Z4s so maybe runflats on those models don't suit the car as much but on the E89 I've no issues :)

Tim.
