Interesting one today; one of those perfect situations ie traffic lights at the start of a dual carriageway, dry road & up pulls a boy racer with girlfriend wanting a race in his JCW.

Naturaly I obliged up to 70, and very surprised how much of a margin there was - I pulled away and at 70 was atleast 5/6 car lengths ahead.

Just thought I'd share..!

what engine is in your z ? my old jcw will kill my z to 70 but after that i would say the z will pull ahead

I have the 3.0si

I was surprised but maybe he messed up on a gear change or something

I would say that it must of been a stock JCW, My last car was a cooper S running 230bhp and that would give you a good run for your money, reved up to 7200 rpm and being super charged they pull all they way up to that rev limeter, ive been up the strip at the pod in my old Cooper s and was up against a 3 series with a 450 bhp cossie powerd and by the time we had reached the 1/4 mile he was only a car's lenth in front 96 mph in 1/4 mile :) for a 1600cc front wheel drive that isnt bad. don't underestmate the Cooper S you may get a shock :poke:

i like these sorts of post

i now know i can so don't need to prove it if a boy racer tries :)

I had a "do" with a JCW a couple of weeks ago. I was surprised how quick it was(not sure if it was stock), the ZMR could reel it in to be fair, but it certainly didn't hang around.
