Run Flats

As Gaza said on good roads the run flats are fine, its just sad that us British road tax payers dont get decent road surfaces to drive our car's on :x My Run Flats on my daily drive to work where dangerous especially when changing lanes on my local duel carriage way so they had to go!

as ksher said - michelin's ZP system just doesn't tramline at all...

everyone here is sick of me saying it though, so I will shut up now :D

I'm still wondering about a flat tire. If you use a canned tire inflation product that also contains ingredients to plug the hole . . . will it ruin your tire pressure sensing unit?

Cry, just buy non run flats, tire weld if they puncture, the world won't end, replace tire! I repeat the world will not spin off it's axis!

Is it true that once you've used Tyre Weld on a tyre, the puncture cannot be repaired, i.e. you need to buy a new tyre?

General question: what size are the OEM Bridgestone RFTs?

kinda depends on what wheels you have on it...

standard OEM 18" non-M staggered setup:

255/35 R18 on Rear
225/40 R18 on Front

I see... forgive my newbie ignorance! I have a regular coupe with 18" 108 alloys.

no worries :D

then they should be as described above in my post

Thank you!

Looks like £360 for a set from Camskill. Would a full set fit in the boot of a Coupe (for taking them to the fitter)?!

no idea about the coupe, but they wouldn't in the roadster...

dont think the boot is that much bigger really, one for the coupe guys I think

I have the standard 17" wheels with Bridgestone RFT and have not experienced any problems with tram-lining at all, my old Zed with 18" RFT was horrendous, does the size of wheel have a significant effect on this phenomenon?

Yeah I think you are correct - I can't imagine how it would work!

When I went to ATS to get my winter tyres fitted to the alloys I got off ebay, I put 2 wheels with the old tyres in the boot
and 2 new tyres on the passenger seat, and made 2 journeys (not too bad 'cos they weren't far away)

could maybe do it with the hatch open... if you've not too far to go

mine used to tramline terribly on the OEM bridgestones.

now it just doesn't at all on the Michelin RFT (ZP's)

oh and no crashiness either :D

Speak to the fitter and just get them delivered there instead. Much easier.
