Hi all, new to the forum, just got my first Z4, 2008 2.0i in black, will do some pics shortly. I've noticed I have run flats, I need four tyres do I have to fit run flats or will a normal tyre of the same size fit, the car has a mixture of Good Year and Pirelli on at the moment.
Cheers

No, you don't have to have runflats. Decent non-runflats such as Michelin PSS or Goodyear Eagle F1 PS2 make a big, positive difference!

Get rid of that pointless run-flat sh*t. They cost a fortune and are really not worth the extra. Good recovery policy and tyre gunk + compressor in the boot is what I have.

Thanks guys, I've got a set of Bridgestone Potenzas on order, 225's on the front and 255's on the back, will do some pics once they're fitted and I've cleaned the wheels up. I was very interested in the roof motor re-location, is this a problem on all years on the E85's or just the earlier ones?
Cheers
Rob

OP, I have Bridgestone Potenza RFTs on my Z4 and they aren't great (but they were almost new when I bought it)!

Hopefully you haven't ordered RFTs, but good luck anyway!

Do yourself a big favour and cancel your order !!!! I had to give away mine for free and they had a good thread on them. Don't get the RFT mate they are useless.

Regarding the roof motor the problem is with all E85s including the facelift ones, so if I was you I would relocate it ASAP.

Hi, too late benv6, got the normal Potenza's on now and the car feels so much smoother than the run flats, got a set of Bridgestones on my BMW R1200S and happy with them, I'll see how they go once they're worn in a bit.
Cheers
