What is the widest run flat that is available for 18" ?

A rip off because of their size? Not taking into account the lower sales volumes of a Run Flat tyre perhaps, or some other factor other than a pure rip off. Frankly a Z4 is expensive, and its primary reason is its a niche product. Just the same as RFT tyres and an unfortunate fact of life. I'm not happy about it, but just reading 'its a rip off' doesn't make me feel better about it lol.
So whats the alternative? (not ordinary tyres because BMW pi$$ you about on warranty issues then)
For me Maniac makes a good point and its a point i had never given any thought too but im now feeling a bit better about having RFT fitted, my wife and myself both being in our early 60s standing on a motorway embankment in the middle of winter does not appeal at all, yes i know the chances are remote and i dont think BMW fitted them just for my benefit but in the end its all down to personal choice .
Cost is important so i took out insurance to cover any punctures for the next 3 years so i will be keeping my RF,s but like i say, thats my personal choice and others will surely have theirs .

I remember you writing to BMW UK on advice of fitting non RFT's with respect to warranty, so I re-read the owners manual and it only states that you should only fit tyres approved by BMW and these tyres have a specific marking, it also says that RFT's are fitted for our benefit, however there is absolutely nothing there about the effect on warranty.
Talking today to my Dealers tyre specialist the only tyre recommended for the E85 is still the Bridgestones ...nothing else 
He "could " supply Michelin SP2 but would have to write a disclaimer on invoice and like the 120d again his price is on a par with Costco and Micheldever
Mind you he also quoted a price for a pair of rear Goodyears for the 120d which undercuts Micheldever ( you probably need to live in the south to understand that bit)
