I was travelling along the M25 last night and my tyre pressure warning light came on, pulled over to services and my front off side tyre was down to 1.7. Topped it up to 2.5 and went on my way, and checked it again at home and it was down to 2.3, and this morning 1.1. Obviously a puncture or worse still another cracked alloy.

Options were a new tyre at £250 (wembley tyres) or National at £325, or I thought I would try ATS. They said why not just repair it? It seems that a lot of garages that chose not to do them do so because it is a pain in the arse getting the tyres off and they get accused of damaging wheels in the process. ATS took their time and did a cracking job, repaired it, did the alignment on the car, all for £40. Missed a crackind date because of it! But oh well :(

They said they were told a few years ago not to repair them but have now been given the green light, under normal guidelines, ie not in the side wall etc etc....

Saved myself at least £200 today :driving:

Nickm, wheels and luck are three words that are not readily associated with each other, that is until today

Good to know u got them repaired, and also good to see common-sense prevailing(by the tyre manufacturers),and that ATS are now fixing rft punctures  :driving:

When I needed one the other week I was told you could not repair them so I guess its like you said its down to the garage. I did need a new one though as the tyre was shot to be fair.

Although I am glad I dont have 19" wheels having seen the prices you were quoted. I paid £160 for a new rear Bridgestone run flat for my 17" wheels.

so how much you reckon for 2 new run flats? 18 inch dealer quoting £400 all in...and thats actually competitive!
