Run flat indicator and hot rear wheel

Evening chaps,
Came back this evening after a motorway run and the run flat indicator had come on. Once parked at home the rear driver side was very hot and had a bit of a smell.

However, I took the car out again tonight and it drives like normal and without any indication of a seized caliper. Accelerates and brakes fine, doesn't veer to one side or lose speed when coasting.

Any other ideas?
 
The runflats are pretty good at disguising when they are actually flat .
Check pressures on all 4 would be a good first step

I agree, I had a flat for months and didn’t realise until the tyre split open 😳
I just kept resetting the light because it was driving fine
 
I bought the car with Pilot Sport 4s.
I have just checked the pressure this morning and they are all at the 29-30.5 PSI, which isn't a puncture but probably on the low side.
 
My understanding is that the tyre warning system compares the rotational speed of the wheels on the same axle.

I had the light come on when I hit a large puddle on the motorway and the axle had one wheel rotating normally and one increase speed as it lost contact with the road - ice or leaves may well produce the same effect.

A sticking brake caliper/deformed disc would have a slowing effect on one wheel say on a damp road and trigger the warning. This would also generate considerable heat from the friction. If the pressures are OK and it lights again afer resetting the system then jack up the corner where the wheel is hot and see how freely it rotates by hand - you should be able to spin it for at least a revolution which a good push. If its hard work to turn jack the other side for a comparison - if that side moves easily start looking ofr threads about sticking brakes!
