I have 2 daughters aged 21 and 19, both of their boyfriends were invited over for new years dinner, their faces were an absolute picture when during dinner I announced with a completely serious voice that come this time next year there will either be rings on their fingers or new boyfriends on the scene.
I got hell from both my girls later on

As mentioned elsewhere, when I was 16 I went out with the daughter of a senior RAF Regiment officer who was hard as nails and worryingly obsessive about his appearance (spit shined shoes EVERY night) and his daughter... He had access to LOTS of weapons - your post just sent a horrible shiver down my spine sars
