To be fair Scotland are at their best when they are the underdogs :thumbsup:

Coach needs to remind the Scots that the Aussies are just English Convicts :thumbsup:

One big game is all it takes :)
 
I can't believe Ireland are out! I thought they would be a stick on for the semi's

On the other hand all hail the Champions of the Northern Hemisphere - SCOTLAND.

At least for an hour or two. :D
 
Ireland were my bet for the final before the World Cup started - firm believer that you have to be 6 nations champions to stand a chance of winning the World Cup.

I wonder whether the unseasonably mild autumn has helped - it's not lashed it down this World Cup and The a millennium always has it's roof shut these days.

Let's hope they can keep it going and we don't see that typical Southern Hemisphere final push in the last quarter
 
There's no way that was a deliberate knock on. Bloody biased Southern Hemisphere TMO...
 
Should have been a yellow for that late charge on Hogg... But man, that was close. No folding for us, right to the end. I'm off for a wee cry now :cry:
 
Played amazing. Seemed like we didn't get many decisions. Hogg being felled should have been it not to mention having 10 mins with a man down!

Absolutely gutted but also very proud!!
 
Scotland played brilliantly - had some opportunities in the first half which could have put even more pressure on Australia who looked beatable as there defence was wide open. Scotland ( and trust me this concerns me) look like a real prospect for the 6 Nations. Referee didn't help scotland but probably because the game was played a lot in Scotland's half.

Despite the emotions there was no place for the booing of Foley as he took his final kick.

I find some of the death of Northern Hemusphere Rugby Stuff a bit OTT particularly when you see how closely Wales and Scotland ran RSA and Australia.
 
I can't imagine how it must have been in that changing room. Very Cotter was gutted, Greig Laidlaw clearly seething... Sadly the referee is the man in the chair, and he's under as much pressure as the players and, well, sometimes they choke too...

Every English friend of mine has been both amazed and massively complimentary - and they were all supporting Scotland, which bowled me over :thumbsup:
 
It was a slightly bizarre feeling to cheer Scottish Tries at Twickers, a lot for Scotland to feel cheerful about this World Cup .

It wasn't the easiest group and probably the second hardest QF .

A bit gobsmacked by Ireland they just seemed to run out if players.
 
Okay, so I'm no rugby fan (not by choice, just never got into it that much); but today's match was incredible. The drama, pace and passion shown by both sides was a joy to watch, even though I only know around 30% of the rules!

The weather turned and added a dramatic backdrop to a brave fight by Scotland who had by all accounts, been written off before the match. What a great advertisement for the game and I intend to start watching more and working on that missing 70%
