Bing, Nosa - my apologies. You're right, that was short of me and unacceptable - bad day at work that overspilled onto the forum. :(

I'll reply back with a constructive chat later. ;)

Best,
Si

(PS - I lived in Aberdeen for 7 years so kinda see myself as partly an honorary Scot too ;) )

I could mention a whole load of Aberdeen jokes, mainly associated with farm animals. But I won't ;)

Ooo close mate, but fraid its minimum 10 years to qualify.

And no offence was taken from me, thats what I love about this forum is that people do take part and will show their passions and stuff, different points of view are better for discussion, And as for telling me I was ranting, if I had a penny for every rant I have had on here I would have about £100

At the risk of bringing this up again, if you don't know London that well then you should be watching The Tube on BBC 1 - you'll get an idea of the sheer weight of people moving around the city during the day at peak hours...

Should have said, don't try to watch it tonight - my son is actually watching a Sky+ recording  :slaphead:

Worth watching next time it is on though. I'll get me coat ...

+1

I lived in zone 1/2 for 6 years and people have no time to stand around and talk as there is literally no room on the pavements

I still go to London on a weekly basis and find as soon as I step off the train at euston I find my walking pace naturally picks up. I then develop that 'thousand yard stare' by which you don't catch eye contact so you can 'straight line walk' through the crowds without having to weave around.

5 years on from moving away - I don't miss the pace, noise or stress - but I do miss the underground due to its convenience.

Perception is a funny thing.

I love Scotland and have to visit Glasgow and Edinburgh in particular a lot because my company own lots of outlets in those cities. I never really feel very welcome though in either city if I am honest. I get a sense that they hear my English accent and the barriers go up. I don't think for a moment that Scotland is anti-English but it just a feeling I get back when I'm there.

Perhaps it is just perception on my part, and that might not be accurate.

Londoners... when someone's rude u haven't got a clue if they're a tourist, day trip worker, immigrant, terrorist or politician, let alone someone living in the capital.

Having spent almost 30 years working here, with very few excepts have always found people to be very helpful when u ask for assistance... & I always do the same, although most do keep themselves to themselves.

Must be the dodgy places u lot must go...

Perception of a place is a wonderful thing. Thats why Im worried that if I ever visit Glasgow I'll be forcefed deep fried mars bars only be able to drink Tennants and end up getting headbutted at some point in the night :poke:

PS. Love this forum and the debates it produces! So much better than FB

I wouldn't worry about it - just accept it as a certainty. You'll probably get stabbed while you're in the hospital too, we're efficient like that :D

And before anyone has a go - I was born in Edinburgh and am a Fifer at heart, so yes, I am startin'. Got a problem wi' that pal ?
