Ruby/Champagne Z4M in High Wycombe

I'm off to view a Z4MC this weekend, assuming it's not been sold by then at the dealer in High Wycombe.

Just a quick check to see if anybody knows the car, or whether it has belonged to a forum member, as I know some cars have been sold back into the dealer network recently.

It's Ruby Black with Champagne, 2 owners, Nav, Logic 7, Cruise, dimming mirrors, so a nice spec, but no PDC.

Saw one a few weeks ago here in surrey, perfect spec, carbon black with Imola, all the toys but alas it had been driven a hard 40k miles and had been owned by a heavy smoker. Not the one for me then.

Cheers

James

PDC is standard on an M?

Ruby and Champagne sounds fantastic, havent heard of the car before though.

Good luck !

Personally Ive never understood the need for PDC on the Z4 escpecially as the front isnt an option from new.

It is not as if the rear is not that far away from you :?

Couldn't agree more Gannet. It's got a short back end (oooh er) and the PDC sensors spoil the line of the bumper. Might be different if they were the really subtle, Porsche type. Front PDC would be a different matter though and very useful.

I remember seeing a champagne/ruby car when i bought mine in 2007 at Eastern in Edinburgh. Have a look to find out the supplying dealer.

I like it for the hidden low obstacles so I am glad I have it.

Are Porsche sensors subtle? The one's I've seen aren't particularly less noticable than other manufacturer's efforts. It amazes me that nobody has yet managed to design a system that can work through a nominal thickness of bumper and thus go unseen.

I've never had them, or a need for them, and, whilst I'm happy for the option to be there for others (I imagine they're usefull on E60's, etc.), I resent it when they're standard fit.

These go through the plastic: http://www.parkingdynamics.co.uk/Installation

Had PDC on my M3. Came too used to it and whilst reversing onto a drive at an angle one day, the continuous beep came on the moment I hit the wall :x . Wouldn't bother with it again, the old fashioned way is much more fool proof!
Just something to bear in mind, would hate the same sort of scratch on my Z4M!!

I have it on my 330i so I have just grown used to it, although I am sure I can live without it.

What occurs to me is that IIRC it was a cheap option, £180 springs to mind, so it's surprising to not see it. The first Z4M that I looked at (and wished I'd bought back in March when the market was v.low) didn't have them either.

Agree though, nice to have some clean lines on the bumper.
