Rubbing noise from passenger rear wheel when going right...

I changed one of my rear springs a few weeks ago (drivers side) and I've recently noticed a very quiet rubbing sound from the same wheel, only when I turn right and go slow. Like when the wheel does a full circle. It doesnt happen when I drive straight.

Can't see anything loose or feel anything touching...

Any ideas before I jack the wheel and investigate further?

Nope.

I jacked the wheel up, took it off and couldnt see evidence of rubbing.

My housemate reckons it needs new brake discs, and the noise could be because one of them is warped. (I doubt this as the noise started after I changed the rear spring ...could be coinsidental? and why do I only hear the noise when turning right!!) but its an excuse to buy new discs/pads on payday. :P

Another theory could be that the handbrake shoe has come loose. - I never checked before.

Or, it could just be I havent tightened the wheel nuts enough! - I'll do that tonight :)

3rd theory is the wheel bearing, but I've had one of them go before in my first car and it sounded/felt different to this. Plus that got worse, this hasnt.

If anyone has read this far down and has any other ideas, they'd be gratefully receieved

You 100% sure it is your rear wheel? Have you had someone standing outside whilst you turn the car slowly to confirm it comes from that wheel?

Especially as the rear wheel does not change position when you change driving direction.

No not 100%. But I can hear it when the window or roof is down, I'm pretty sure its from there... I'll get someone to listen out for me tonight.

Its more pronounced if the drivers side of the car is higher than the passengers when turning right (does that make sense?) On a roundabout near work, the roundabout is higher in the middle so the car is at an angle slightly when going round. Thats when I hear it most...

Its got to be suspension related surely ??

When you "bump" the rear end by pushing it down, do you hear anything?

I also suspect it is suspension based as you replaced the spring and it only happens when the car flexes a certain way.
