Rubber seals - leaking?

Has anyone found water leaking through the rubber seals of the doors/windows? I don't mean with normal rain or anything but when I get my car cleaned with a high pressured hose, water squirts through and sprays me in the face :x

Granted it's a very powerful hose, but I wouldn't expect that from a BMW.

A high pressure jet, aimed directly at a seal, yes, it will let water through, whether a BMW, a Ferrari or a Bentley. They're weather strips to seal the weather out, not high pressure jets. I'd suggest perhaps cleaning the car yourself (risky I know) or perhaps asking whoever cleans it for you to not aim directly at the weather seals. :)

Consider yourself lucky anyhow, there are peeps on here that had to return their car because it couldn't keep rain out, never mind high pressure jets.

Don't use a high pressure washer, you will dull the lacquer, damage seals and force water into areas it doesn't need to be accelerating corrosion.

I've never used a pressure washer on any car however I have been thinking of getting one for snow foaming as I use the foam bottle on a ordinary hose at the mo. What puts me off pressure washers is my neighbour was washing her Punto and stripped the paint off the bumper so carried and decided strip the complete bumper to make it look neater :o I'm still cautious as it only takes a small stone chip for the paint get stripped. I guess just hold the pressure washer further away from the car.

Tim.

I use a pressure washer, to rinse the car down first and loosen dirt, then snow foam with it and then to complete the rinse after a two bucket wash. I don't get any closer than perhaps 3-4 feet ever as there's just no need given I'll be hand washing the car. Oh that's a lie, I have got a bit closer to blow leaves and crap out of crevices I couldn't reach in the arches etc they're perfectly fine to use, just don't get right up to the paint. Having said that, I'd not let one of those car wash industrial jet washes near my car because I'm pretty sure the pressure on those is more than double my little Karcher at home.

To be honest I used to clean the car myself but I have been lazy recently. I better start cleaning it myself again
