rubber floor mats

I know that you cannot get official rubber mats. Has anyone tried mats from another model? I would have thought that 3 series would fit nicely?
 
Whats happened to the official ones then? I have them in my car, bought from bmw a while back. Have they stopped dojng them even though the car is still in production?.
 
Yip- It was one of the things we asked for and could not get. I reckon the footwells are going to be very similar to other BMW products, so I should be able to buy a set for a 3 series or whatever and fit them no problem. I was just wondering if anyone had done the same.
