Rubber floor mats - retaining clips?

Hello,

I recently bought some BMW rubber floor mats to replace my velour ones for the winter. They came with an instruction sheet :!: describing three possibilities for securing them with retaining clips (not supplied).

Underneath the drivers mat there are velcro pads to pair up with those in the car. However, are the retaining clips really required for the passenger side? I think this instruction sheet may be genetic to all BMW's even though the mats are specific to the E85.

I can't see any part number for the retaining clips.

Thanks.

I got my set last week. They came with 4 retaining clips (2 for each mat). I did not have to replace them because they are the same as the ones used with velour mats. But my set is only for E89 though.

Didn't have to use any retaining clips with the set on my ///M - although the top-most 'flap' on the passenger side does sometimes fall back on itself under hard acceleration.

Thanks for the replies. The dealer that I bought them from confirmed the same thing. They are good quality mats!

I was getting the same thing so i just moved the mat closer to the pasenger seat base and it stopped it

I thought of that, but then realised it'd ruin the aesthetics from the symmetry between the passenger & driver mats, and would not sit correctly in the place it is measured & cut for
