Rubber Drain plugs - my experience.

Bin them! They are the most pointless trouble causing piece of crap on the Z4, E85.

Bought my Zed 2 years ago and it is always parked outside with ass end pointing down the hill (if that makes any difference) and thanks to the forum I decided to take the bung out on the roof motor side and ditch it. I left the bung in on the other side.

Durham Dave relocated the motor to the boot and when he took it out it had been replaced at some point, before me. It was in pristine condition and bone -dry. The other side, where I had left the bung in was full of water. So Dave kindly binned that one for me as well.

So, if you have doubts as to what to do with them, I hope I have answered them.

I would keep them mate, road noise in the cabin will be greater now. I am about to post a wanted ad for one!

If you're worried about Road noise, I'd suggest another vehicle may be a better option for you.

My Z4 was rather loud inside before I removed the bungs. The sound generator with some foam removed just increases interior noise. But I wouldn't change it.

For what it's worth, my bungs came out along with some mud, grit and even a small twig. Not sure how that lot managed get in there, but it can't have been good for the drains

It's 15mm or so plastic plug that still has hole in it, makes absolutely no difference to the road noise. Removed and binned mine because both where blocked.

lol never had a roady in my life. Once you get up to 70mph you hv to shout to talk to the person next to u lol
