RTAB limiters

I'm looking to change my bushes so I may as well do the limiter mod whilst I'm in there. Where are people getting them from?

Search for 'BMW RTAB Limiters' on eBay and you'll find the ones from PSB (Problem Solving Bushings) for £24.90 delivered. They fit just fine and are way cheaper than Turner.

Their poly bushes seem very reasonably priced 😊

Cheaper yes but are they as good? I don’t know but wouldn’t cheap out on my m

Those ones on eBay say they don’t fit the z4m ...

I’m talking about the limiters not the bush’s

Hackengenering do them ( limiters ) for £50 as well

I know. They don't need to be metal, the polyurethane works just fine so you're paying through the nose for nothing.

I was talking about the limiters too as that was the original question.

It’s not for nothing. So Yeah my statement still stands then. Would rather have my turner ones and not cheap out on my ///m.

.... quick question .... do you need to fit new bush’s when fitting the limiters? Or if the original bushes are in good order ( what’s people’s thought 54k on them ) just fit the limiters ?

Thanks

I have both RTAL’s and RTAB’s (blue track spec) on order from Rogue Engineering’s supplier in the U.K.

If you look in the discount code section I posted a thread how to get them slightly cheaper.

They’re more expensive than PowerFlex which I’ve had before (& likened on my 3.0) though supposed to last even longer... which on a //M will be tested

.... ok thanks

So can you fit the limiters with out renewing the bushes ?

Also only really interested in new oem + limiters ( probably Turner ones )

Supposed to? Have you ever seen a powerflex rtab fail?
I've had them on my car for 7 years now, how long have you had yours?
I dont think there is a version out there that's been more thoroughly tested than the powerflex ones.

First had my old 3.0 back in 2010/11 so probably now the same age, though as sold in 2014 can’t say how well have stood up to the pounding.

However, I found there was still some movement hence why deciding to try both new poly limiters & bushes... & maybe just because I like the name chose RE this time rather than PF, as car has RE top mounts.

Always nice to be slightly different & should they ever turn out to be ‘pants’ with 340 ponies (rather than the old 230 ponies) I’ll certainly let everyone know

The powerflex ones at least hold up 7 years/40k miles with 380 ponies/465nm torque with no problems at all.
As I said, probably the most tested and used rtab and never seen one fail.
Inspected them a few months ago when fitting eibach camber arms, and still looked like new. Top quality product.

Regarding the earlier recommended PSB bushings in this topic: I would steer clear of those. I had them for the rear diff mount (in the days other companies still didnt have an alternative), and they failed. It had a design flaw, as a few people on e46zone had exactly the same failure. Sub par quality materials used.
That was btw the only poly bushing I ever had that failed. All powerflex and strongflex bushings have held up nicely till now, all 23 of them.

Out of interest, other than polybushing the ARB’s & main RTAB, any other of those robber joints you’d suggest getting done (with pics if possible)

Cheers

Go for polybushes mate.

Mines booked in next month to get these and rear coil springs done.

Apparently you should make sure that the bushes are greased properly otherwise I’ve heard that they can squeak.
