RS6

The guy I have been dealing with at Audi just let me loose in an RS6 and I have to say WHAT A MACHINE!!!!
Walking up to it it just looked like any other boring estate on the roads and I was underwhelmed...and then I drove it!
I have no doubt in my mind that this thing would out accelarate the current R8. No doubt whatsoever. This thing just flew. And then on the bends, I was expecting to be driving an estate car...but it just wasnt. It took bends like it was stuck to the road. The only thing I noticed was that if you leave braking too late you can feel the weight as the brakes struggle to reign it in and you end up around a bend at 10/15mph more than you wanted. But that just makes you realise there is so much more in the car.
The gearbox is one of those twin-clutch things and did the job superbly. I couldnt even tell when it was changing at cruisng speeds which is the problem with the SMG unit where it is jerky as hell and similar manuals trying to be autos.
What an achievement of a car. I cant understand the mixed reviews it has been getting, it was the most fun I have had in a car in ages and I couldnt help pushing the loud-peddle for more of that intoxicating V10 shout

Jas667, I love it, what a beast of a car. Some pics I posted previously :sweetheart: What colour was it?

It was like a dark grey which was not flattering at all. I think maybe black would look better.
It was a great machine, still buzzing off of it today :D

Given the current economic climate, I think these could be a serious bargain in 2-3 years.
I'm sure I read somewhere that Audi is working on a 610bhp RS6+ like they did on the previous model :)

Yep you could be right, would be worrying about the thirst and the warranty though. £80k car with the running costs to match.

I belive this is where they intend to turbocharge it, there was an article on pistonheads a while back. BMW in response may even turbo the M5 engine.

Completely barmy power :D

It's already got two turbos, think they're just turning the boost up a bit for an RS6+

Will the next M5 engine be turbo, maybe...suppose it's a definite possibility. Won't be worrying me though, unfortunately :)

I see the RS6 is faster than an Audi R8!! :driving:
