Rpi scoop? Worth it

Might increase airflow when compared with the oem scoop, but I think you'd hard-pressed to spot the difference most of the time. Mine seems to rev a little more freely above 6,000 rpm, especially at extreme speed...but that could be wishful thinking!

Had one on my Z4MC

I tested it by accelerating between two fixed points on the road in 2nd,3rd and 4th gears with and without the scoop on the same day and conditions. The speed showed no improvement or difference in acceleration. Holding a steady throttle and flooring it at the first point and noting the speed at the second point in all gears.
The only issue was reading the speedo accurately, perhaps I might have been able to detect a few miles per hour difference if it was digital.
I wouldn't buy one again

Ok sell me yours :)

It appeared to do absolutely nothing on my Z4M. So much so, I didn't even bother to mention it when I sold it.

But surely it forces more air into air filter than the current stock system.
If anyone selling and willing to ship to south Africa please let me know.
I at least have to try :)

The OEM scoop sits in an area of high pressure air. The RPI scoop has a much larger cross sectional area that "sees" more air than the OEM scoop but, if the limiting step for flow in the intake system is not at the scoop, then changing the scoop will make no difference. As I said before, at high revs at extremely high speed, when the ram effect will be at a maximum, mine seems to rev more freely with the RPI scoop. As for 0-60mph performance gains, I'm unconvinced...

The other benefit that no one has mentioned is a modest increase in induction noise (and it really is modest). The scoop faces out through the kidneys grills and seems to project more induction noise outside the car. Again, it's difficult to prove gains here too, and I'm basing this on people who have heard my car before and after fitting the RPI scoop.

I'm happy with mine too - I didn't expect huge improvements so I wasn't disappointed! I actually quite like seeing it peeping out through the grill - I went for black not red, so it's fairly subtle

Yes, I have the black one as well.

Looks good, slightly more roar as you say and the car feels a little more lively. I did have the new air filter as part of that combo package so can't say for sure how much is from what.
