Royals wheel dilemma

Once the wheels are stripped is there a difference in the Msport and standard wheels ? Apart from the face trims and the thickness?

I wouldn't know about any difference sorry, I was just stating that I had asked for my wheel which is non M Sport.
He's told me they are due new wheels in 1-2 weeks time for exchange. I'm going to go for it ready for my Nur trip in October.

Was quoted £170 for round wheel, £230 for flat bottom conversion. They don't have exchange wheels atm (at least not for non M Sport).


I asked for perf e+w
Smooth n+s.
Double padding.
Black stitching.

He also sent me several examples which I'll upload later for people's reference. He was super helpful on the phone.

I couldn't see any difference (unless yours is heated), I swapped my SE one for a M Sport one without any modification, they are interchangeable.... so even the other steering wheel will keep you mobile if thats all they have to lone out.

Here are the images he sent me to help with my decision (I sent him Pbondar's image from the first page as that what got me interested!)
I've gone for exactly the same as the bottom image (flat bottom, blue 12 o clock, perf L&R, smooth T&B, M sport stitching).

I'm now thinking of sending the standard SE wheel off for trimming and then swapping the later shifters off the Msport one onto it when it comes back as I quite like the trims on the SE as they go with the ally trim in my car. I did think the paddles was interchangeable but then suddenly thought what if they aren't lol. I was just trying to get it all sorted without having to take the Msport off again just to check the paddles.

Hmm tricky...I think I’d go for a flat bottom mod in black or maybe a dark red thread...the wife’s Mini has it and it looks quite tasteful on a Royal style wheel

Where did you get the flat bottom from out of interest? Also looking to get a royals recover but like the idea of this.

Yes it an option Royal offers...I know others poo poo it but I really like it...gives a bit more room when you clamber in n out plus looks cool IMHO..each to their own..

Agreed I prefer the flat bottom as well, adds a touch of individuality.

Was around 3 or 4 days for first contact, then a few days for another reply confiming, then i booked it. 6/7 days from enquiry to booking roughly

Well I submitted my query on the website a week ago and nothing, sent him a whatsApp on Friday and still nothing. Looks like i'll have to try and phone him instead. My spare wheel is stripped and ready to send off, just need him to answer me.
