The whole front bumper comes off to replace the front one

Huh??

Yep the whole thing has got to come off. Couple screws up top. A few more underneath. Clips along the wheel well. Just to get at two tin screws that hold the roundel on.

Someone parallel parked their Jetta on top of my front bumper a few years back.

I DON'T HAVE THE PROBLEM BUT I SAW A 2004 2.5 IN A PARKING LOT THE OTHER DAY AND THE FRONT ROUNDEL LOOKED THE SAME. ( sorry)

I would think warranty or not they will replace those for free. I would lets face it that is the most important part of the car down the line for the mfg.

Scary thing was he knew his insurance info by heart,

Anyway the side ones just twist on & off. Isn't there an e-bay offer or something that could save a couple bucks

Sorry... but that's not right.
All you have to do is pull a grill out; I've done it several times.
There are 2 speed nuts holding it on.

The side signal twists off,
but the Roundel is on with 3M double sided adhesive tape.

It's actually better to leave the lights on the car & use dental floss to cut through the tape.

Makes more sense..I've replaced roundels before but haven't had the luxury to on the Z so I dunno..

That happened to the front roundel on my 325i as well - it happens over time, especially if you wash the car with a pressure wand. The paint on the eblems isn't very durable.

That happened to the roundels on my z3. Luckily for me the roundel is on the hood so it doesn't require to take anything apart. Got my replacements from ebay.

i almost cried when i heard the above posts about removing the whole bumper!.... you my friend have just prevented a grown man from crying. thank you :driving:

yep, take the grill out and unscrew the front one and side one is held with double sided tape. you must have done something to get that to peel, havent seen that on such a new car before. taken it to a car wash recently?
