 End of A590 cul de sac (South Cumbria)
As the title suggests - I'm looking for a watch to wear when DIYing etc
Currently reviewing the Casio G-Shock range

Can anyone advise if they are any good or suggest an alternative

This is my rough & tumble watch, although I do always remove it for anything it might get damaged!

Large but not as large as some G shocks, sold the last one & purchased another which is always a good sign.

To be fair, any G is bulletproof

5600s are great, sit much smaller on the wrist than the one I posted, so mine will get knocked / caught more often.

Probably the perfect watch, classic size, amazing bracelet. Was the watch I sold my first Riseman to get. Loved it but just a little small for me & what a G should be size wise, hence buying another & selling this one.

That said the negative display isn't as easy to read at a quick glance, but looks great

That is probably my favourite 5600 almost bought one a few times as really wanted to add a 5600 to my collection but ended up deciding as I already have a G shock that is tough solar model and another G on a bracelet I'd ticked both those boxes in my collection...... but I still had an itch for a 5600 so when I saw the eBay deal for under £40 I scratched it
 
G shocks have been the watches I lose money on (luckily they are cheap, that % of other watches woul really hurt!)

I sold my Riseman to buy the 5610, lost money selling it. I then purchased my 5610 at about a 15% discount, and after having having had it a month decided I wanted the Riseman back, just after it had increased in price & the 5610 was being sold by the watchshop for 50% off...so another double hit. Wish I had just bought the 5610 as well, but didnt really need two Gs as its biggest use is setting my other watches to it.

The bracelet on the 5610 is brilliant, so light and comfy. I've toyed with an MTG as a posh beater, but cannot really get my head around spending quite that much on a G.
 
Didn't think you wanted too large :P

A good choice, I've had one of those as well, but decided it was just a bit big for my girly wrists :lol:

Very cheap, had it over 2 years and worn everyday at work (aircraft engineer) so hands on. 100M water resistant with date.

At that price for a watch you don't care about it is ideal. And looks OK in my opinion for a work watch!

What I was really bothered about was the thickness

I went to Goldsmiths and tried a couple on
The watch I have and am trying to protect is a Citizen EcoDrive
The ones I was considering after reviewing the internet were smaller so look a bit odd.

This one is about the same size
Ordered off Watch Shop when I got home - Despatched within the hour and due tomorrow
Then I found it £13 cheaper :( - but delivery was next week - hey-ho
 
Love my Eco drive, it's my only non auto, so the only one apart from the G always ticking.

But on the lookout for the ray mears version as slightly smaller & more special. Will then sell this, only worn a few times and immaculate. I have a strict one in one out rule.

Good aren't they? - I go abroad a bit with work and the 'local time' advance is brill
It also irritates the hell out of me if a watch is not bang on the correct time ( I set it up to the atomic clock :( )
It keeps really good time - only ever alter it for BST

Very nice, far more advanced than mine - my one only doesn't need a battery :rofl: Perpetual is a nice touch too on yours, had a 023 Seiko briefly, but was about 3mm too small vs my SKX watches, so not a keeper.

If you want a great auto, that just takes everything in its stride, have a look at the the SKX it is my go to watch

007 with black face and bezel, 009 with Pepsi bezel and dark blue face. Have them both & looks great on a NATO / zulu and easy to swap depending on your mood for the strap :thumbsup:

Time.is Another useful tool when travelling without any syncing watch :thumbsup:
 
Delivered 10.00am today - great service from Watch shop and Royal Mail

Now I just need to spend the rest of the day reading the manual! :D
