Rough/hunting idle worse when interior fan runs

When I turn on my interior fan My 2005 2.5l has a rough, fluctuating idle with slight coughing. If the fan is off, it's MUCH better (almost gone). I'm replacing my lower throttle intake boot because I suspect possible cracks.
My question is, what should I be looking for, if the interior fan affects the idle? Alternator perhaps?
