Roof wont open fully

Hi All,

I've seen various posts regarding roof retraction and the motor failing although i have a slightly different issue. My roof retracts pretty much all the way until the final 'pop'/lock into place, has anyone else experienced this and if so what have you done? Obvious answer is take to a garage although i'd like to avoid that is possible.

How old is the car? If it is a pre-facelift, it is a known issue and you have to teach the roof to fold the other way, i.e. instead of one fold going inwards, push it outwards. You may have to do that a few times.

Normally, that will sort it if you are talking about the last 1 - 2 cm that is ...

Its Jan 2004 (53) and yes it's really the last few cm before the click into place. I'll give that a try.
