Roof via Key

I assume you can lower the roof via the key but not raise it?
Not on mine anyway.

You can code the car on Carly to raise and lower the roof via the key, hold and press unlock to take it down and lock to bring it back up

Drivers side lock, turn key hold, top will come up / windows up on mine. Hold unlock on key, top will go down / windows down. That is all I know. Not much huh?

My key has been intermittent after not working for about a year. The other day I pressed some buttons trying to lock it adn the roof started closing by itself. :roll:

I have 2 keys on different key rings. I switch using them, the key charges while in use. So far so good. Maybe key just needs to be fully charged? This is on a 2006 Z4mr.

I couldn't find it on Carly. No matter, the local indy coded it for me so now press and hold unlock drops it, press and hold lock puts it up. Boot on remote no longer works but can live with that.

I asked the dealer years back and they said it was a code-able feature on early cars but dropped for safety reasons (!) and that's why they wouldn't do it.

Carly will code for roof opening while moving. Once it's started opening you can move off, won't start while moving. Pity it's not one-touch.

Strange you could not find it on Carly, mine is a 2004 and it’s on there for me. If you want the one touch you could install the gaptech module as many other on here have done think the module is just under £100

Thanks, mine's 04. I'll have another look at the Carly at some point. Yes, I've read about the Gaptech and never got around to it. Just been reading about updating the Bluetooth/music which is more of a priority

Works like a treat! use to following options: (You have to press and hold for about 5-6 seconds before it actually happens)

"COMFORT OPEN USING REMOTE"
"COMFORT CLOSE USING REMOTE"
