Roof Up or down on Motorway

If it's motorway, or above about 25c I'd probably have the roof up and a/c on.

I didn't buy my z4 for the convertible roof, particularly (though the wife does like it) I bought it cos roadster are cheaper than coupes.

The wife prefers the roof down as she finds it claustrophobic with the roof up.

You've reminded me, we worked out my wife never gets travel sick in either Z4 with the roof down. We think it's to do with the roof specifically too, I can make her feel queasy within about 3 miles in either the Fiesta or S-Max. Oh no, I'll have to drive the Zed some more instead, what a shame.

My wife wanted a convertible so bought a 2.2 Z4 to test the water, loved it so upgraded to 2.5 auto which was much better for touring, now progressed to M40 that is the real deal for touring, only problem is we are doing too many miles!.

Down as much as possible. But when accompanied by SWMBO it depends on our destination and whether her (long) hair has to look pristine.

No Question roof up .Noise/Fumes and sitting on the M25 around the A3 roadworks no fun.

Roof down when its 16C+ here in NL. Windows up when I'm on the motorway, windows down/half down for city cruising. During winter the roof is permanently down due to the hardtop

Weirdly I have three convertibles yet I rarely have the roof down. Almost never in the E89. I put it down once a year to make sure it still works. In the U.K. it’s usually too cold; in Spain it’s too hot. 35-40 degrees summer sun is not much fun…..it’s why the southern continentals don’t do soft tops as much as we might think they should. It’s why I bought a ZMC as well, as frankly coupes are often better looking.
