Roof unlocks, lowers but doesn't lock when fully opened and down

I have had this issue for a while now before the car was laid up. Where I had to lower the roof and when it was fully lowered I had to go round to the side of the car and push the rood down like 2 millimeters and it would then lock into place. Otherwise I would get a red flashing light saying something is wrong with the roof. i am unsure if this is a locking issue, roof not folding correctly issue, relay or control module issue. the roof motor itself was relocated to the boot about 5-6 years ago and topped up with hydraulic fluid/oil.

Once I push it down it's fine but just wondering if this is an easy fix. i will try and video it but hard to do now i had to remove the gaptech as it had failed so I need to be in the car whilst lowering the roof so i'll need to get someone else to film or someone else to hold the button down. the light won't flash straight away once lowered. you need to drive it for a bit then it will start flashing. it's as if the last part of the lowering process isn't working (locking it in place). but if i go round and push it down it locks into place.

no other issues with the roof what so ever now. it goes up and locks onto the windshield first time.

Mine sat high in the middle and didn't latch when open, so I removed the latch, it's not there on the facelift so obviously isn't important, the roof now sits much flatter.

This has gone completely over my head. Do you have a pic of what part you removed or a link to one? Or even a diagram from realoem with a part number? I'll be making a video asap and uploading to YouTube but thought I'd start a thread before hand in case anyone had any ideas to try. I'll have a look for this latch you speak of. I was going to spray the locks with wd40 give them a clean then spray grease to lube them up and see if that helped.

I recently explained on a thread here how the material of the roof can fold in, instead of out, and the extra thickness created is enough to prevent the lock engaging. Took me months of faffing about with wifey's car to find that little issue. But now, by simply lowering the roof halfway, then popping the folds outwards, it all works as advertised.
I'll see if I can find the thread.

Here you go. Look at the pics in my second post:

It's at the top of the storage compartment, between the roll hoops
There's a thread somewhere covering removal, it's pretty straightforward but takes an hour or so
