just finished football and took my roof down, it went all the way apart from clicking in, it won't go back up electronically yet I can here the motor going! Its clicking in with the motor near my windscreen but the motor seems faint.. Please help

No I think there are 2 motors, can someone confirm this? A motor near the top to lock into place on windscreen?? That's working so it locks, but now no noise on main motor, what cables do I connect? There are no error messages!
Guys tried the boot button that works fine so probably something to do with motor or hydraulics, how long does it take to take the roof off to investigate the motor?
£55 for a good used motor on eBay, should I buy it? At that price? Even though it may not be the motor?

leon i have the same problem as you, was working fine yesterday then it pissed it down last night and today it is being s**t..

May be easier mate but I think you need to leave a couple days free, I'm in Tamworth midlands.. It may be the motor but your gonna have to take the roof off to see anyway. Where are you?

If its next day delivery im gonna check he has them in stock before i order!! the plan is to take all the roof off, investigate the motor etc and drain out the excess water. seal and lubricate. then test to see if it works.. if it doesnt ill be on the phone ordering one so i can fit the next day!! thats the best case senerio. What do you think?

im ordering the motor first, as its pretty obvious what has broken here!!
order motor, wait for it to arrive, take roof off, replace motor, seal the f**k out of it... plastic bag and all.
replace, test.
if it doesnt work take to indi!!

Yes but you may want to read the roof dead thing with the other guy saying it was the red cable nipple sticking and it was the same as ours. if its a case of the parts from the motor, you may be wasting your money. and if its next day delivery whats the harm in checking to see if somethings come loose etc?

think it was Stirz post. but search red cable on here and i found it, after speaking to Mark (stirz) he said he had the same problem as us.. When he took everything apart he said it was the red cable jammed and he bought a new bolt, and the existing motor was rusted but it still worked. he is putting the old motor on ebay as we speak..
He was a very helpful guy and believe we need to investigate our problems before buying the motors etc. but of course the risk is not having a car for a couple of days (waiting for the motor to arrive if this is the case)
Well thats my plan anyway.. my roof isnt making a noise either, but the other day i messed with the red cable and for a moment the roof juddered when i pressed the button and then stopped. so its either the motor or the cable making the motor stop?
