I'm sure many are aware of this but it caught me out for a few minutes, so I thought it's worth reiterating:
Decided to fit the MSport seats I got from Street into wifey's car.
It's a lovely sunny day and my back isn't quite sorted so I thought I'd drop the roof first to make things easier.
Well it definitely did. Straight out with the old and in with the new.
Put it all back together, connected up the battery, checked it all started ok and that the heater elements worked. Even remembered to reset the clock.
Then I tried to raise the roof. Nothing. Just a red flashing light.
Oh dearie me I thought (or something similar).
Spent 10 minutes checking connections, wiggling the microswitch etc.
Finally a little spark occurred in my head.
I reset the windows (up, 4 clicks, down, 4 clicks, back up.)
Tried the roof and it worked. Obviously the battery being off had lost the 'memory' for the windows and the roof wouldn't move because it didn't know where they were.
That was a relief I can tell you!
