Roof Tensioning belts

I've noticed on my new Z that the roof seems to slam shut compared to my old Z. Little digging online and have found this..

Will be ordering some new belts today hopefully part no 54347184482

Has anyone fitted these on here.?? Not seen the topic come up.

Well I've order the belts from my local stealer. £25 for the 2.

7-10 days as they are on back order, guess it's not a common problem.
 
Oh wow I had noticed the slamming on my 2006 3.0si compared to my 2003 2.5i. Please let us know how it goes guys! I'm not sure if I feel it's bad enough to go to all that effort about though...
 
Mines slams shut and I did read about it over a year and a bit ago that the straps are the cause of the problem, I just put my hand up to slow its fall just before it shuts (cheaper that way) but will sort it out one day

Strange I had a 2004 and it was perfect, now got a 2006 M and its rubbish at closing.

Thing is it's a BMW, it shouldn't slam shut. Should be silky smooth :thumbsup:
 
Are you sure it's not just faster closing this ///M specific roof :poke:

Just picking up where Adamski left off :lol:

Sorry, that's what I meant: the 2003 was smooth as, the 2006 slams.
 
Did anyone fit these and was it a blag? My roof tends to slam on closing and its annoying... Wasnt so annoying last summer! :headbang:

I've not got round to fitting them yet, still sat in my garage.

These are new to me too - look a right pita to fit, not surprised they're still in the garage :D
