Roof stuck open, please help!!

Hi i bought a z4c about 2 weeks ago and today had the roof down, ive just pressed the button to close it and absolutely nothing happened, i have pulled the red release thing in the boot and pushed it shut, then pressed the close button and the front catches worked ok, when i press the button now i can hear the motor running in the boot but only the front catches release, can someone help me please???????
 
I think pulling the red lever disengages the motor so you need to reverse whatever you did when you pulled it. Sorry I can't help further, I have never used the manual override

Oli445 is right return red lever to orginal position and try again. Your lucky my roof stuck down in January and the red lever did'nt release the roof, -5 driving to the dealers was'nt much fun.
 
Problem is trying to put the roof down on a Z4C as that's a coupe :poke:

You have a Z4R my friend and the RAC one featured on here by the looks.

Sorry guys wasn'nt thinking straight at the time, im ment z4r! if i can hear the motor running after ive pulled the emergency leaver, does that mean that the motor should be ok and its something else wrong? Will the emergency lever just push back in? What do you mean rac one and how do i see the old posts about this car? Sorry for all the questions, im new to all this! :D
 
If you get no luck with the lever maybe worth checking the boot microswitch.... maybe it doesnt know the roof is down to raise it.
 
Hi ive pushed the emergency lever back in and the roof worked fine, i then drove it and its stuck down again, so i pulled the emergency lever again, pushed the roof up, but before i pressed the button to pull the front down i pushed the emergency lever back in the roof is working fine again, could the problem be some kind of switch not saying the roof is down or something? :cry:
 
I think this is on the other thread (there are two?? :? ) but I had similar problems when I bought my zed, check the rear microswitch (a quick google will show you the part),

Does the light flash orange when it sticks?
 
ok i'll have a look now and check it tomorrow, there are no lights until i pull the emergency lever push the roof up, push the lever back in then everything works fine until i drive it? :cry:

I wonder if the valve that you are opening and closing is faulty? The motor is running and it works when you cycle the valve. IIRC the micro switch shuts down everything so the motor won't run

sounds good, do you know where will i find this valve?
