Roof straining to work

Hi, for those who have experienced the problem, can you confirm my suspicions. The roof was going up and own like a train last week, this week it is groaning and straining, just about makes it up and down! Is the motor knackered? Just what I wanted a week before I go on holiday...and taking the car.

If as suspected the motor has had it, can anyone recommend a good indie in West Sussex. If I can't get it changed before I go away, can you manually raise and lower the roof. I am assuming by pulling the release loop in the boot releases the motor.

My car is a 2004, 2.2

I would try some 3.in 1 one all the joint's and let soak in for a day or so,see what happens,do mine every month during polish all o.k at moment. :) Zeds do need T.L.C. treat as a female you should not go wrong, dont forget to speak to her.

From what I understand the motors usually die in a day or so without much previous warning. Usually when the roof has a tough time raising & lowering its because the hinges/joints need a good oiling.
