Roof stopped mid close

So I'm slightly crapping my pants because I don't know anything about mechanics. Tonight I tried closing the roof, it got about half way and stopped. I had to help it shut. I then dropped it again which was fine, but again same problem. Like there's not enough power to close it. The light on the button just blinks.
Any advice? Do I take it to a garage etc?

So the update to this is, now nothing is working regarding the roof. It locks and unlocks, the most annoying thing is i cant seem to disengage the motor to use manually, the sun is shining as well which make it more painful!

To diseangage use the red lever on the left hand side of the boot as you look in.

As regards the roof operation it does sound like a motor problem so prep your wallet accordingly.

sounds like the motor's dead, could you hear it running before, did it sound a bit rough ?

The manual release button on the side of the Hydro/motor often seize, it happened with mine, makes it even harder to change the part as the roof should be open for the roof to come off.

I 've heard that some people can get it open by keeping constant pressure on the roof ...pushing it back, It didn't work with mine, anyway I was maybe a little reluctant to push too hard in case I damaged something.

the motor sounded fine, just stopped mid close. sounds like its seized, when you pull the red thing it doesn't come up at all.

someone suggested checking the micro switch, so im going to go have a look, but i just know its the motor - warranty i got doesn't cover it either,

When you pul the red lever you then need to turn it a quarter turn so it stays pulled out. You can then use the button to unlock the front of the hood, and you should be able to push it back and down quite easily. Do it from the centre front though so you don't twist the mechanism. Same with putting it back up... or better with two people, one each side.

No worries. Should look like this when the hydraulics are disengaged so you can move the roof manually :

I'd still prep that kidney though as your symptoms are classic motor failure :(

Sad face! I like my kidneys.

I just went out in the z. Roof came down no problem, quick as a whistle.

Got home, tried putting it up, nothing! Red light flashing again. So I disengaged the pump, and it wouldn't budge. Really difficult to move. I did notice when it dropped the material got caught a tiny bit.

Anyone heard out like that?
