Roof sticking when opening

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem to me. When opening my roof recently I've held the button, head everything whirring as normal, but the roof doesn't budge.

I've figured out that if I give it a slight nudge near the wing mirror it will suddenly come free and start to retract as normal. There's no problems with closing it.

What is the likely culprit? The car's under AUC warranty so I'm going to take it in, but to be honest if it just wants a bit of lubricant on the mechanism then I'd rather do that myself!

Anyone had similar?

mine did it when under a year old ! i was told the roof motor had been flooded and they fixed it under waranty , i am told fitting a hard top over winter months helps with this problem!

I had the same problem - the latches would disengage but the roof wouldn't move any further without a gentle thump. A spot of WD40 in the latches sorted it straight away. Again I was concerned my roof motor had gone. Was slightly disappointed that it wasn't as I would have had it replaced for a brand new sealed unit under my AUC warranty!

Just watch you don't use too much oil as it seems to communicate with the cabin of the car around the sun visor. I had to end up stuffing bits of kitchen roll around the visors to soak up the excess!
