Roof repairs

Hi,

Read a few posts now and viewed a number of U-tube videos on roof problems.

Number one issue seems to be broken wires.

Can someone identify replacement wire used for repairs.

What gauge etc should be used to cover required power but be flexible to avoid fatigue breaks when open and closing multiple times.

Also suppliers to place orders with if possible.

Cheers
Jim.

Roof repairs ? Go with Spanish tiles. Very pretty. What’s the problem with your roof ?

Microswitch rear-end module closed right.
Error A692.
Have ordered replacement switches but thinking on replacing wiring from switch connectors back down to near the controller connector in the boot.

One of the utube videos suggested all harnesses should be replaced every 10 years. Mine is a 2011 model thus looking at what is involved.
Fix all at same time or multiple breaks over time and possibly out in the sticks when failure occurs.

Several answers in this HowTo:

0.25mm² LiFY from TrueComponents in the correct colour from CONRAD is my 1st choice.

Don't touch the two switches in the rear roof shell. It's difficult to replace, but not required at all.

Thanks again for the feedback.

Lot of info in the file to digest.
Can now order cable if required.

Cheers

Hi all,

For clarification and to make sure I’m not off working on the wrong switch, can someone confirm location of part that needs to be changed to fix error code ..

Microswitch rear-end module closed right.

And a link to any video showing a how to repair on said switch.

Thanks again.
After I replace both side switches should I also replace the wires back to the multipin connector?
Just asking as these wires don't appear to move as far as the roof module ones and may not be near breaking point?
