Roof Question/Problem

hi peeps.

got a strange one when i put my roof down i hold the button as normal until its down and the light is out once i have been driving for a few minutes the roof light starts flashing red at me so i then stop press the roof down button again and it goes off but then once again once i have driving for a few minutes once again the light starts flashing.

can anyone help me with this, i'm thinking maybe i should just take it to my local BMW garage as it still has warranty but then i don't want waist anyones time if its something i'm doing wrong!!!

It sounds like the roof is not going down all the way. The roof should latch into place and a micro switch will confirm this, if not the roof light will flash.

On a virtually identical thread, Ruud suggested that after a few roof down days this should clear itself.

Iirc facelift cars dont even latch down, so don't be too worried about it popping back up.

thing is this isn't the first time i have noticed this problem it happened a few times in the summer last year so now it would seem that its getting worst maybe??
