Roof Problems

Hi there, i Recently took my car to the garage and had my entire suspension replaced. I had all my parts in the boot of the car, i flipped the switches at the sides to increase the boot space, when i got the car back i put the flap back down and hit the button to put the roof down and it just flashes orange now like theres something still obstructing the roof. I can't understand whats gone wrong because it was working before. When i first got the car i thought the roof was broken because i had the same issue. turned out when i played around with the red pull tag in the boot and pushed it back in... the roof worked. I was quite glad because i managed to get the car cheaper due to the fact the roof didn't work and turned out it was something simple. is there any way to reset the motor? has anyone had the same problem? its a bit annoying because the weather is getting better and i can't even stick it down :( Any help would be appreciated thanks

Have you checked to see if the micro switch is working/in place. I had the same problem after catching the tray with something I put in the boot. It knocked the little metal strip off the micro switch which is used to detect were the roof is. if it cannot see the switch then you will get the flashing orange light.

+1. The switch is usually the culprit. It is only too easy, when raising and lowering the shelf, to disturb the location of the stud on the back of the shelf that pushes the lever arm of the switch to make contact. Just lift the shelf a little at the back, raising the stud and then make sure it goes back down to press the switch contact arm in fully. If this doesn't work it may be that the switch needs replacing or there is another fault.

Yus you guys are all a bunch of legends! :) Thanks so much fixed it today, it was the metal clip that had popped out... bit that presses the switch, fixed that then ended up polishing and valeting the whole car heh, My Roadster S is looking fly today, took it a run on the twisties too, B12 bilstein Pro kit just recently fitted with new bottom arms bushes pads, drop links the works and tires. first time i've taken her out for a PLUCK in a while, really tight love it! next its a spray job, decat and I need to somehow get hold of an Alpina splitter, can't seem to find em anywhere

anyways thanks again for your help its much appreciated!!!
