Roof problems

Hi

A few months into Z4 ownership and have been enjoying my 2004 3.0i e85. I've been lurking the forums and picked up a few tips already and had hoped to post a proper newbie post but sadly the first post is one seeking help.

I've removed the steering wheel and seats to give the carpets a good clean and wrap the steering wheel with a mewant trim. Everything reconnected with no errors, however, straight after the roof went from slow operation to now not functioning at all. It unlocks and locks but will no longer drop. Presumably coincidental as I understand this is symptomatic of a dead motor?

I'm based in Plymouth, are there any roof experts that are in the South West that can be recommended?

I believe it's customary to post a picture of new zeds to the forum so here's mine in all its glory below...

Hello and welcome, car looks pretty nice

Number 5 (Alan) is in Bristol and is pretty good with e85 roofs, 3 posts and you can contact him via a PM

Hi PlymZed. Hope you get the roof sorted. Is that Kit Hill chimney in your photo ? It looks familiar. My cousin used to live between Callington and Stoke Climsland so we used to go walking our dogs up there when staying with him.

Thank you for the warm welcome and I'll be sure to contact Alan when I can.

Well spotted, yes it is Kit Hill, good effort making it all the way to the top with the dogs! Some fantastic views from up there along with some good roads looping back over Dartmoor.

Hi PlymZed

I've sent you a PM with contact details, for both myself and Bowser in Hampshire

Thanks for replying Number5, I think that's my 3 posts so should hopefully be able to reply to the PM.
