Roof problems

Seamouse

New member
Hi all, hoping someone can help me with the roof.
So I’ve recently had the motor moved to the boot by someone else and this included a new motor.
All was working well with the roof then suddenly wouldn’t go up on its own again. Tried the roof on several occasions and it will go down okay but not up.
I’ve topped the fluid up, bled it and there seems to be lots of air coming out and have done this for about an hour now however no fluid seems to be returning to the reservoir!
So I’m a bit confused about it!
Any help would be greatly appreciated :D

A couple of checks to start with :-
1) is the manual release lever partly engaged, which will allow some pressure to bypass the pump leaving enough pressure for a gravity assisted down but not enough pressure maintained to raise the roof ?

2). A possible leak from one of the hoses at the Ram? If so you’ll see oil coming out of the drain holes in front of the rear wheels when flushed with warm water ?

If it’s one of my relocations, give me a call.
Alan

That just sounds like the hydraulic motor has died. It will need extracting and replacing but best to relocate it to the boot at the same time.
Depending on your location a few members on here (inc myself) can do it for you for £150-£200

I'm in Bristol - Miles away from you.

You need to contact Durham Dave though. He's your closest Roof Guru.
His number is on this forum somewhere if you search for him.

Edit - Found it.... 07864 860960.
