Hi and welcome to the Forum

Either go for one from a breaker or OEM BMW - Sopers at Lincoln (who will post) and mention the Forum for a good discount. Think £280 has been mentioned before as the price. Personally I would go for new as the risk of taking it all apart, replacing with secondhand only for it to fail again is, for me, just not worth it.

Before you write off the motor completely, some members have had success with getting the motor out, drying it out completely and found it works perfectly, usually after they've shelled out £350 for a new motor.
It seems that 99% of the time motor failure is due to water getting into the motor due to BMW's rubbish design on the mobile aquarium aka the motor housing and drain plugs.
