Roof Problem ?

I do seem of picked a car with a few niggles  i seem to have either water or hydraulic liquid leaking, any idea what this must be ? What do I need to get it repaired ? Passenger side of the car, when I open the roof there is always a patch of water or liquid there.

It’s possible that the hydraulic pipe is starting to split where it bends at the pivot point on the roof arm, if you carefully part the protective sheathing at that point and look at the hose you should be able to see any damage, if it is damaged then it will either require a new loom (if that’s the correct term) or you could try getting a couple of couplings and a new piece of hydraulic line and splice it in, try a search for hydraulic roof pipe repair

Not sure about leak, but the rubber strips that are grey and dry come up a treat with Triplewax tyre shine. Paint it on with small brush, let it dry and polish off. I finish off with some beeswax furniture polish comes up a treat. But don't let the tyre shine get on plastic.

Wipe around the cylinders with a tissue see what comes off, if it doesn't evaporate off probably hyd. oil.

Blimey this does look like a right hassle 8)

Having been busy with work recently, I've not had much chance to diagnose this. Is there any experts out there that can help me diagnose this, so I can get it repaired ? I'm no expert so I don't know what I'm looking at..

TIA

You should be able to tell if it’s water or hydraulic fluid easy enough, hydraulic fluid is oily & water is not.
The links posted above are guides to doing the work or you can use a trusted garage to do it for you.
Whereabouts is your location?

Didn’t your car come with a warranty?

Sadly the warrenty was engine and gearbox only - the owner of the garage is now, not returning my call. I want to get it repaired as soon as possible to enjoy the weather.

High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire is my location

Not too far to visit Ross at RBM, in Hook then?

The roof is now refusing to open now 😕.

Hardly surprising if it’s lost all its hydraulic fluid..best not to mess around with it till a competent person can look at it

Yeah I must say I am disappointed, only owned the car for a very short time. And has given me such a headache.
