Roof problem

Hi, yesterday my roof stopped working ,today I checked the fuses all were ok checked the roof motor and that is working i am getting no lights from the switches in the centre console as if dead , is it the switches that are faulty as carly says roof switch open circuit check harness all looked ok , just wondering if anyone else has had them fail , the only other possibility could be the roof module

Make sure that the micro switch in the centre of the parcel shelf in the boot firewall is set right the shelf should be in the lower position to make space for the folded roof when its down. The small peg on the shelf should engage with the plastic slot on the firewall and operate the switch. Not unknown for the metal tang on the switch parting company with the switch. If its at fault I would have expected a red light on the switch on the dash.
Are the windscreen top locks unlocking or is nothing happening at all?

Double check the fuses and put a meter or test bulb on the fuse connections to see if there is any power there, do the same with the switch connections. No power then find the roof control module and check out the connections on that. Might be internal of the module gone bad.

Cause was temp sensor of all things, dont know if yours would have this.
If you have to get at the module its here at least on a 2.5 https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e85-z4-2.5i-roa/repair-manuals/61-general-vehicle-electrical-system/61-35-control-units-modules/IF153dq

Sorry for the delay found sometimes if you disconnect the module and refit it it will work and then just stop , also if I get a module the part number no Mine is 7199997 and the one i have seen is part no 6954776 which is on the parts catalogue as a later version will this work as far as I understand if its been in a z4 before its just plug and play
