RobbiZ4 is the resident roof expert ...

Funnily, I've already seen his car parking in Munich last summer and placed my Z4 business card on it. So he already had my contact details, but missed it.

With the new Y3 Roof Diagnostic System I was able to diagnose the following:
Messung04-5.jpg

Well, that was a very interesting fault I haven't seen before!

As written, the rear roof shell came up, but the pump didn't stop to push it further.
After some checks, this switch in the rear panel was electrically fine, no broken wires or sth. else, but it did not change it's switch state. We gona have it replaced soon.

Mightily impressed by all the hard work and time that has gone into developing a tool that makes roof diagnosis now seem so easy.
Well done indeed Robbi.

Well that was a quick diagnostic and hopefully and cheap and painless repair

They said there wasn't any error in the computer and that it is a hydraulic leakage, and quoted me a 2500 euro price tag for the repairs (allegedly, the roof needs to be dismantled).
A nonsense quote of 2.500€ for a hydraulic repair, where no fault is. And I often get told these stories!!

Oh I remember the initial post, I said you were the resident guru on roofs and €2,500 is a joke, why would they have done when the guy said ok change the pump and it still did not fix the problem - would have been an interesting conversation one thinks

Interestingly, a pump costs about 3k plus some 100 bucks for mounting. What would this guy have done with 2.5k? Nothing at all? :headbang: And then, asking for a surcharge? I'd make him some... :fuelfire:

I would have told him to take to out or taken him to court and given his business a piss poor reputation on any and every review site / forum I could find :headbang:

I have played hell with a few people with piss poor service, I will not put up with it and should not have to, go back and see my thread when I bought my car and just played f00k with my warranty company when they tried to screw for £70 which I had back, told them clearly the policy was misled based on the crap they were trying to pull - have you
