Roof only goes halfway back

Hope someone can help. I've searched everywhere here and find the usual roof issues, but mine goes halfway back then stops it will close again but can't get it further back than halfway. Is this indicative of the dreaded motor failure or a micro switch which I'm led to believe there are a few of in the roof mechanism.

Any help or advice gratefully received.

I use it whenever the sun's out. I spray the hinges etc with gun oil in a fine pump spray.
I tend to think its a motor out job. Off to the dealer tomorrow for them to check it on the fault machine. :(
 
try checking the boot and make sure the levers are in the correct position. Also make sure there isn't anything pressing up against the cover in the boot.

I had a similar problem the other week then realised the cover was being pushed up slightly by something in the boot !
 
Mine did a similar thing last week with nothing in the boot, but, I had knocked the tray previously that same morning as I was dragging big things out of the boot. I just turned the knobs that lift and lower the tray and it worked fine. I did feel faint though as the "Many Peso's" fee for fixing the roof is a very scary thing. Hope you sort it mate! :)
 
Mine sometimes does this Z4RRO and I had the motor replaced in mine about 5 months ago now so cant be that..... I hope!

I wouldnt believe the stealers just yet... Like people have said check the tray in the boot that might of been knocked.
 
Sounds certainly like the tray in the boot is up. or the micro switch for tray is bust.
